ENGINEERING.com’s Viewer is based on a light weight viewing concept. Files of .3D type can be viewed, marked up, and measured by all ECS members. Markups, Measurements and user views can be saved and viewed by all participants so that collaboration within the design process can be accomplished.

Features :

Model Tree Organization
The model tree is located on the left hand side of the ENGINEERING.com Viewer and it is used to organize the model assembly, markups, and views of a .3D file.

Toggling between and will show/hide various features.

Various View Options
There are various views available within the ENGINEERING.com Viewer. They are similar to your standard CAD system, and they include: Perspective, Isometric, Single, 2 Horizontal, 2 Vertical, 4 Equal, 3 +1 Perspective, 2D Standard, Front, Top, Bottom, Right, Left .

A user can also store User views. This allows customization by allowing other members to view a predefined views set by other users.

Ability to take Measurements
Various measurements can be made on an object within the ENGINEERING.com Viewer. These measurements include; distance, measure angle, bound box part, 3 point circle,,draft angle, and mass properties.

Markups for all participants to view
Markups can be saved onto a .3D file so that all participant users can view the comments made by all the participating members. There are two types of markups: 2D notes and 3D notes.

2D notes are placed anywhere within the viewer box and will stay fixed when rotating/zooming/panning the object.

3D notes can be made so that comments can be attached to a specific point on the object. 3D notes rotate/zoom/pan along with the object

Ability to select preferred Appearance settings
Every user has the ability to select their desired view. These appearances include default, shaded edges, triangular mesh, wire frame, hidden lines, and dotted.

Perform Cross Sections
The ENGINEERING.com Viewer allows users to perform cross sections on an object so that parts can be dissected and the inside views can be seen. Choose from YZ, XZ, or XY planes.

Change Units depending on specifications
Each user can change the units depending on specifications or preferences. These units include: Microns, Millimeters, Centimeters, Meters, Kilometers, Micro-Inches, Mils, Inches, Feet, Miles, Degrees, DegreesMinSec, Grads, Radians
